Ukrainian Drone Strikes Russian Oil Tanker in Black Sea, Continuing Recent Assaults

In a recent incident, a Ukrainian naval drone reportedly attacked a Russian oil tanker near the occupied Crimean Peninsula. This marks the second assault on Russian ships in the Black Sea within two days. Russia’s Federal Agency for Sea and Inland Water Transport confirmed that the attack caused damage to the tanker’s engine room, but the ship managed to stay afloat without any oil spills or injuries to the crew. Vasyl Malyuk, Ukraine’s head of the Security Service, hinted that his country was behind these attacks, referring to them as “logical” and “effective” tactics. He also suggested that Ukraine would continue targeting the Kerch Strait Bridge until Russian forces completely withdrew from Ukrainian territories. This incident is part of Ukraine’s ongoing challenge to Russian control over the Black Sea, further exacerbating tensions between the two countries.
