Popular Twitch star Kai Cenat has finally addressed the chaotic events that took place at Union Square Park in New York City. During a recent live stream on Twitch, Cenat expressed his deep disappointment with the turn of events that occurred during what was supposed to be a fun giveaway for his fans.
“I can’t even put into words how disappointed I am,” Cenat revealed, expressing his frustration towards the crowd that transformed a supposedly enjoyable giveaway into a full-blown riot. He made it clear that he did not endorse or condone any form of disruptive behavior, stressing that such actions were far from cool.
At just 21 years old, Cenat organized the event with the intention of gifting free PS5 game consoles and gaming accessories to his loyal followers. However, the gathering quickly spiraled out of control, resulting in injuries and numerous arrests.
Cenat reiterated that his initial motive was purely positive, aiming to give back to his beloved hometown of New York. He emphasized the importance of ensuring both safety and fun when organizing events of this nature.
Interestingly, Cenat’s recent livestream comments were in stark contrast to his earlier statements, where he had eagerly referenced how they were all going to have an incredible time during the giveaway.
Subsequently, Cenat faced arrest and charges for inciting a riot, unlawful assembly, and other related offenses. He has since been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in court on August 18th.
