Trump’s Legal Team Criticizes Premature Release of Draft Indictment in Georgia

Former President Donald Trump’s attorneys have expressed strong condemnation towards the premature release of a draft indictment by the Fulton County court in Georgia. They have raised concerns over potential constitutional violations in the ongoing investigation.

The Fulton County court website briefly displayed a document that appeared to list 39 charges against Trump, resembling an indictment. However, the District Attorney’s office clarified that Trump has not yet been formally charged by a grand jury. The early release of such an indictment or charges has sparked worries about possible infringements on due process rights.

In a statement, Trump’s legal team voiced their concerns, stating, “The Fulton County District Attorney’s Office has once again demonstrated a lack of respect for the integrity of the grand jury process. This was not a mere administrative error. The proposed indictment should have only been in the possession of the District Attorney’s Office but somehow found its way to the clerk’s office, where it was assigned a case number and a judge before the grand jury even deliberated. This situation exemplifies the pervasive and blatant constitutional violations that have plagued this case from its very beginning.”

Although the statement did not specify whether they intend to file a motion to dismiss the case, the incident has sparked online discussions, with the term “Mistrial” trending on various social media platforms.
