During a recent interview on FNC’s “Your World,” Governor Chris Sununu (R-N.H) shared his viewpoint that there is a strong chance President Joe Biden will not be the Democratic nominee for the 2024 election. Sununu outlined his perspective, stating that while he cannot confirm this with certainty, it is increasingly likely that Biden may not be on the ballot in November 2024. He presented two possible scenarios. The first is that Biden smoothly navigates the primary process and secures all the delegates. However, if his health declines, he might use it as a reason to step down and endorse another candidate, exerting significant influence. Sununu noted that this kind of strategy has been used by Democrats in the past. Alternatively, a new contender could enter the race this fall. This candidate would likely have national recognition and may not come from a political background. Sununu does not anticipate Democratic governors taking such a step in the upcoming months, suggesting that coordination under the guidance of Jill and Joe Biden could occur by next summer. However, he believes it is possible for one or even two individuals to announce their candidacy in the fall.
